 State of the Judiciary Luncheon
The Annual State of the Judiciary Membership Luncheon was held on December 1, 2009 at the Country Club of Fairfax.
Vegas Not Business as Usual: FBA Convention 2009
The FBA held their convention in Sin City from October 4 - October 7. Attendees not only enjoyed their stay at the MGM Grand, but earned important CLE credits, and had a chance to do some sight seeing as well.
2009 Legislative Reception
The Fairfax Bar Association, along with the Arlington County Medical Society, the Medical Society of Northern Virginia, the Women Attorneys Association, Northern Virginia Chapter, the Alexandria Bar Association, and the Arlington County Bar Assocition hosted the 2009 Legislative Reception at the Fairview Park Marriott on September 21, 2009.
Stitt Cup 2009
The Young Lawyers Section has been hosting Lawyerpalooza since 1995. The event was renamed in 2008 to the Stitt Cup in 2008 in memory of Judge Stitt.
Mock Trial: Little Miss Muffet v. the Spider
Volunteers, along with the Fairfax Law Foundation, put together a mock trial so students can have a better understanding of how our judicial system works.
Annual Meeting Luncheon
The Annual Meeting Luncheon was held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Maggiano's Little Italy. The luncheon included the presentation of the Hon. Arnold B. Kassabian Award, the President's Awards, and the passing of the gavel to the new FBA President.
Pro Bono Reception
The Pro Bono Reception was held on June 8, 2009 at the Fairfax County Courthouse.
Hon. Thomas P. Sotelo Investiture
The Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court welcomed Hon. Thomas P. Sotelo as his investiture ceremony on May 29, 2009.
"History of the Fairfax County Courthouse" Breakfast
The FBA hosted the premier of the new Channel 16 program "History of the Fairfax County Courthouse on May 21, 2009 in the cafeteria of the courthouse.
Spring Golf Tournament 2009
The 8th Annual Spring Golf Tournament was held this year in honor of John J. Karcha, Esq. on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Westfields Golf Club.
Comparative Analysis CLE 2009
The Motions Practice in the Local Circuit Court: A Comparative Analysis CLE was held on May 8, 2009 at the Fairfax County Government Center.
History Taping
Channel 16 in conjunction with the FBA taped a segment called "History of the Fairfax County Courthouse".
Celebrating Diversity in Law
The diversity program was held on April 11, 2009 at the George Mason University School of Law.
Law Related Education Court Tour Program
8th grade students participated in a court tour which offered insights into the courthouse and the judicial system.
FBA Strategic Planning Meeting
The FBA held a Strategic Planning Board Retreat on April 1, 2009 at the Country Club of Fairfax.
Investiture of Hon. Jan L. Brodie
The Fairfax Circuit Court welcomed Hon. Jan L. Brodie to the bench on March 27, 2009 during her investiture ceremony.
Investiture of Hon. David S. Schell
The Fairfax Circuit Court welcomed Hon. David S. Schell to the bench on March 13, 2009 during his investiture ceremony.
Bench Bar Dinner Dance 2009
The Annual Bench Bar Dinner Dance was held on March 7, 2009 at the Hilton McLean in Tysons Corner.
January Membership Luncheon
The Membership Luncheon was held on January 14, 2009 at Maggiano's Little Italy in Tysons Corner. Special keynote speaker was Anthony S. Pitch whose new book recalls the life and death of Abraham Lincoln.
Chocolate Lovers Festival
The Annual Chocolate Lovers Festival had many activities at the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courthouse to partake in.
Housing Crisis Training
The FBA's Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center held a training on the current foreclosure crisis along with the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development, the Fairfax County Office of Public Private Partnership, and Legal Services of Northern Virginia on December 10.
FBA's Paralegal Section Annual Holiday Party
The Paralegal Section invited all to their Annual Holiday Party at Dolce Vita in Fairfax on December 8, 2008.
